Project Angel Tree is a ministry that spreads the love and joy of the Gospel by providing gifts to children with incarcerated parents. During the holiday season (after Thanksgiving and throughout Advent), parishioners can select an angel from the back of the church. The angel belongs to a child of an incarcerated parent and details the child's name and age, along with gift ideas. Volunteers then shop for the presents, sort and wrap them together in Assembly Hall, and deliver the gifts to the recipients. Each family also receives stocking stuffers.
In addition, volunteers write letters to prisoners who may not receive anything else for Christmas.
For Christmas 2024, Blessed Sacrament served 32 families, gifted 168 presents to 84 children, and wrote 92 letters to 40 prisoners. Each family also received a bag of apples and oranges and lots of candy to put in their stockings!
Project Angel Tree will start back up again right after Thanksgiving. We are always looking for volunteers to help sort, wrap, and deliver gifts. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Kathy Wall.
