Our parking lots have served Blessed Sacrament for many years, but it's time for an upgrade that will make our campus safer, more accessible, and better prepared for the future.
This summer, we are launching a campaign to raise $140,000 to transform both of our campus parking lots. The west (church) lot will be fully repaved and fitted with electrical and lighting infrastructure underneath it. This work will allow us to add additional lighting in the near future at a fraction of what it would cost to do it separately. The east (playground) lot will be repaired and the playground repainted, giving our students a fresh and safe surface to play this school year. If we reach our goal by Labor Day, we can complete the project by fall.
Why now?
The repaving will give our entire campus community — families, parishioners, students, and guests — a more solid and secure surface underfoot. But the work beneath the pavement matters just as much. By installing the electrical infrastructure while the west lot is already being opened up, we do it right... at the right time, for the right cost.
We're already on our way.
Thanks to participants in our Friars on the Fairway golf outing and to funds returned to Blessed Sacrament from the Diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal — money our community gave that exceeded our parish goal — we begin this campaign with $20,000 already in hand. And thanks to the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous donor, every dollar you give will be matched up to $50,000. Your gift does double the work.
