A Project Dedicated to Uncovering Our Mother's Love for Us
I trust your might, your kindness, Mother dear,
I do believe that you are always near.
Schoenstatt’s great Queen, O Mother mild,
I blindly trust in you and in your Child.
Prayer of Confidence, Heavenwards, p. 170

Launched on September 7, 2025, the Our Lady of Schoenstatt Project takes Blessed Sacrament from figuring out how to pronounce "Schoenstatt" to discovering the Schoenstatt Spirituality. And it really boils down to one thing: the Blessed Mother's love for her children —us.
Fr. Mark introduced the first part of Fr. Joseph Kentenich's (the founder of the Schoenstatt Movement) poem, written while in the Dachau concentration camp, as a way for us to engage with Mary. Like those at the wedding feast at Cana, if we bring our concerns, our prayers, our hopes, our dreams, our everything to Mary, she brings them directly to her Son, Jesus. We Trust In Her Might.
Mary's power is that of the most powerful intercessor. She knows the needs of her children, like any good mother, except that she is the best of the best. Mary redirects us to Him, "Do whatever He tells you." It is through Mary that we grow closer to Christ.
However, this can still be difficult for many of us. This is why we turn to Our Mother. In each of the Schoenstatt shrines, a jug reminiscent of the ones at Cana is placed in front of the altar. Pilgrims are invited to set intentions, written on slips of paper, into the jug. These offerings to the Capital of Grace are given to Mary.
Now, at Blessed Sacrament, as a part of the Our Lady of Schoenstatt Project, we have our own jug. Situated to the left of the sanctuary (when facing the altar), in front of the hanging of Mother Thrice Admirable, we, too, can place our offerings to the Capital of Grace in the jug. These slips of paper will be emptied and brought to the Founder Shrine on Cottage Grove Road to be burned in a holy fire on the 18th of the month, with the slips there.
Giving a physical location to the Divine has always been a part of Christian worship. However, the Schoenstatt shrine provides a place for pilgrimage, seclusion of the soul, and intimacy with Providence, central to the Schoenstatt spirituality.
Finally, as we embark on this project, each weekend, cards with a small quotation from the Gospel are available to take home. Use them to help you in your faith walk, as bookmarks, or to hand out to someone in need. Stop by anytime to fill out a slip and give everything over to Mary- she knows what to do.
Our Lady of Schoenstatt Project isn't about becoming Schoenstatt, but about falling more in love with Jesus through his Mother.
