"May our Christian communities really be places of hospitality, listening and communion! A place of mercy and hope where everyone is welcomed, loved and forgiven.” -Pope Francis
Jesus teaches that whenever we welcome the least of our brothers or sisters, we welcome Christ himself. That is why the first mark of a stewardship parish is hospitality. Simple kindness is one of the first ways we can be Christ-like toward others.
Our mission is to seek out, acknowledge, and engage every visitor and new member to Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Do you enjoy meeting new people and building personal connections? Do you have a great smile and a warm, welcoming personality? Then, you are meant for this position!
Once a month, Welcome Ambassadors are notified by the parish office of new parish members. They will reach out (call) to the new person/household to arrange a good time, and then drop off a welcome bag full of goodies at their home. Welcome Ambassadors consider questions like, "What Mass do you normally attend?", "How did you find out about Blessed Sacrament?", "Did you know this event was coming up?", and "We’d love to see you there!" etc. to stir up conversation.
