Funeral Meals

A team of dedicated volunteers helps to shop, prepare, serve, and clean up lunch for families after the funeral service of their loved one. Our efforts allow the family a place to come together to support each other and celebrate the person's life in a casual and welcoming environment. The luncheon typically follows the funeral and is held in the Friary. Volunteers can help in various ways, including making phone calls to arrange for salads and desserts, donating a dish or dessert, setting the tables and preparing the food trays, serving the meal, and cleaning up and running the dishwasher. These opportunities are needed throughout the year and are based on each team member's availability.
