Friendship, community building, and support for persons with disabilities in our parish!
The Called by Name community helps members use their gifts and fulfill their desires to participate in Mass as servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of the Holy Eucharist, gift bearers, and choir members.
We also have a lot of fun at parish activities throughout the year. Our group of people, with and without disabilities, meets to plan events and volunteer opportunities. Many of the Called by Name activities begin with Mass, spontaneous prayer, praying the Rosary, or faith sharing. We also participate in the events planned by the diocesan Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities, such as the annual summer picnic at Devils Lake, the St. Margaret of Castello Mass and Luncheon, and Advent and Lenten retreat days.
This past year’s Called by Name gatherings have included trips to see local high school and community musical theater productions, trips to the movies, potluck meals, and barbecues and bonfires in our parish courtyard.
